Job summary

ARCO National Construction seeks a Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead commercial and industrial design-build projects nationwide. You will oversee field operations, coordinate with the project manager, and drive on-time, on-budget project execution.

The role requires strong leadership, travel willingness, proficiency with Procore/Bluebeam/MS Excel, and a commitment to safety and quality across diverse sites.

Qualifications

• 5-25 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent.
• Willing to travel throughout the United States.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam and MS Excel.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in your state.
• Able to meet physical demands of field work.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations and jobsite execution through all project phases.
• Attend post-award reviews to gather project details and begin preconstruction planning.
• Develop construction schedules with the project manager, sequencing, manpower, and equipment needs.
• Oversee the project to meet specifications, stay on schedule, and achieve profitability.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to meet the project timeline.
• Prepare job progress and cost reports reflecting actual costs.
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and key documents.
• Maintain communication with the project manager on progress, plans and issues.
• Complete daily reports documenting project details, events, conditions, visitors and client interactions.
• Enforce safety program across all project phases.
• Lead with integrity and a commitment to quality.

Ready to experience a better way to build your career? ARCO National Construction is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead commercial and industrial design-build projects across the United States.

This is a role for an experienced Superintendent, Lead Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or similar construction professional who is ready to take ownership of jobsite execution from post-award review through project completion. You will lead subcontractors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and partner closely with the project manager to deliver successful projects for our clients.

A Day in the Life

As a Traveling Construction Superintendent, you will:

• Lead field operations and jobsite execution throughout all phases of commercial and industrial construction projects
• Attend the post-award review meeting to gather project details and begin preconstruction planning
• Partner with the project manager to develop the construction schedule, including activity sequencing, manpower, and equipment needs
• Oversee the project to ensure work meets specifications, stays on schedule, and achieves target profitability
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure effective performance within the project timeline
• Assist in the preparation of job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and key project documents
• Maintain constant communication with the project manager to keep them informed of job progress, plans, and issues that may impact costs or schedules
• Complete daily reports documenting key project details, events, conditions, visitors, client interactions, commitments, and approvals
• Enforce adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases of the project
• Lead with integrity and a commitment to quality, upholding company values and focusing on exceeding internal and external client expectations

Necessary Qualifications:

• 5-25 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent
• Willing to travel throughoutthe United States
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g. Procore, Bluebeam, MS Excel)

Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
