Traveling Construction Project Scheduler

The Dilling Group provides industrial solutions with exceptional value. We focus on Heavy Industrial Customers for Design Build and Plan Spec construction projects.

A Scheduling Professional is responsible for initiating, monitoring, and maintaining large construction project schedules. The role involves communicating project impacts with the project team and customers, compiling monthly forecasting reports, and forecasting job costs and manpower for multiple projects based on current tracking. This position requires strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create, monitor, and maintain schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in project sequencing and schedule durations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly project update meetings.
  • Design and implement project control systems to improve efficiency.
  • Assist in monitoring project documentation such as Change Orders and Equipment Arrival Dates.
  • Conduct Lessons Learned Reviews and gather project feedback upon completion.
  • Develop best practice procedures to enhance field operations efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Perform additional duties on special projects as assigned.
  • Follow company standards and policies in all work activities.
Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in project controls, cost scheduling, and project planning.
  • Experience in the construction or project management industry.
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and collaborate with site teams (50% or more).
  • Knowledge of Project Controls terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for team and management interactions.
  • Team-building skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to adopt new industry technologies and systems to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Commitment to delivering quality work and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Flexible regarding travel for meetings, training, and other functions.
  • Ability to work remotely with occasional office presence as needed.
