Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking experienced Construction Materials Technicians to join our team. This is a traveling position working on Data Centers, Commercial Warehouses, and other remote projects.

We are looking for dependable, flexible individuals who enjoy teamwork. The role requires working overtime/weekends and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should have strong integrity, self-motivation, and be capable of performing routine inspections and testing of construction materials to verify conformance with plans, contract documents, and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform concrete and compaction testing on commercial construction projects.
  2. Prepare daily reports on testing and activities.
  3. Report observations and test data accurately and completely.
  4. Communicate test results with project leads and site superintendents/foremen.
  5. Collaborate with project engineers and clients to ensure specifications are followed.

Required Skills:

  1. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  2. Ability to travel extensively to remote project sites across the US.
  3. Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed.
  4. Previous materials testing experience preferred.
  5. Technical expertise in electronic field data collection.
  6. Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  9. iPad experience is a plus.
  10. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Required Experience:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1-3 years of construction materials testing experience.

Minimum Certifications:

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I

Preferred Certifications include:

  • ACI Concrete Strength I
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
  • ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector
  • State DOT Certifications
  • NICET Certifications
  • Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety
