Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Construction Manager to supervise multiple project managers and lead assigned project teams nationwide. The role involves delegating work, monitoring progress, and guiding supervisors toward project and personal goals while handling frequent travel to project sites.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in construction management, at least 10 years as a project manager, and proven experience with ground-up light industrial or cold storage projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager.
• Experience supervising project managers and other subordinates.
• Experience in ground-up light industrial and/or cold storage projects over $60M+.

Responsibilities

• Champions 'The Layton Way' by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Ensures that 'Constructing with Integrity' is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
• Participates in operating unit's fiscal and strategic business planning; may participate in business unit strategic planning.
• Calculates project cost projections and ensures they are carried out according to business unit profit objectives.
• Ensures company policies are carried out through project cost review with emphasis on quality, cost, safety, and relationships.
• Monitors quality by meeting with project teams regarding scheduling, personnel, material and equipment procurement, and job costs.
• May supervise multiple project assistants.
• Monitors policy and procedure performance and may provide advice to field personnel on assigned projects.
• May functionally supervise craft workers, assistant superintendents, and project engineers.
• Interacts with all company departments to ensure policy and procedures are carried out in the assigned business unit.
• Maintains relationships with vendors, owners, architects, officials and the public.
• Other related duties as assigned.
