As a Geohazard Mitigation Technician working for GSI, your days are varied and the scenery changes often. You will work outdoors in different climates, collaborating with experienced technicians to measure, drill, mix concrete, and build sustainable infrastructure. GeoStabilization International (GSI) develops and installs innovative solutions to protect people and infrastructure from geohazards. We specialize in emergency landslide repairs, rockfall mitigation, and grouting, employing cutting-edge design/build and warranty contracting. GSI is a leading firm in geohazard mitigation and bridge rehabilitation across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Our expertise and partnerships enable us to address virtually any slope stability or foundation issue in diverse geological settings.

Responsibilities

• Mix, spray, operate hoses, and run shotcrete or grouting pumps
• Move materials on construction sites
• Read and interpret measurements
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Collaborate effectively within a team
• Learn to operate rock drills
• Operate construction equipment such as excavators, all-terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front-end loaders

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Experience in soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation

OR prior construction experience as a carpenter or framer

OR concrete experience such as a finisher, form builder, or shotcrete specialist

OR significant outdoor work experience in a physical, collaborative environment

• Comfort with heights
• Ability to travel at least 3 weeks per month
• Reliability and strong work ethic
• Enthusiasm for working with diverse teams

Additional Qualifications

• CDL Class A license or a clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record

Work Environment

The work environment includes:

• Varied climates from tropical to desert
• Moderate noise levels, often requiring hearing protection
• Exposure to construction site hazards
• Heavy lifting of materials (50 lbs+) on-site

Travel: 100% travel within the Eastern US (east of the Mississippi River). The schedule is typically 3 weeks on, 1 week off.

Pay: $20-$23/hr, with potential to earn over $27/hr including overtime in 2023.
