Job summary

Sequoia Services LLC is seeking an experienced concrete carpenter to join our on-site crew. You will read plans, set forms, and ensure precise finish grades for slabs. The role requires at least five years of experience and proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, assembling forms, placing and finishing concrete, and performing curing and cleanup. Work is outdoors, with PPE and safety protocols mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of concrete carpenter experience.
  • Ability to read and follow plans for finish grades and placements.
  • Proficient in measuring, cutting, and assembling forms.
  • Capable of tying rebar and installing embeds/anchor bolts per plans.
  • Skilled in form setup, alignment, and stability before pour.
  • Experienced with concrete placement, finishing, curing, and cutting.
  • Familiar with PPE and site safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established finish grade during slab pours.
  • Read tape measures accurately and verify dimensions.
  • Tie rebar per structural plans and install embeds/anchor bolts.
  • Set string lines for form placement and construct forms.
  • Build and erect wooden/steel forms; level and secure them.
  • Place and finish concrete; cure and cut as required.
  • Operate tools (edges, floats, blades, saws, vibrators) at proper times.
  • Patch voids and repair concrete as needed; dismantle and clean forms afterward.
  • Maintain site safety and organize tools and materials.

  • Set string line for setting of concrete forms.
  • Measure, cut, assemble forms, construct and erect/build in place prefabricated wooden/steel forms.
  • Set up and secure forms at correct location, leveling ground and ensuring forms are stable and aligned.
  • Perform concrete placement and finish to include placing, finishing, curing, and cutting of concrete slabs.
  • Proficient in the use of the following tools: straight edges to establish grade, bull floats, float blades, combo blades, hand tools, sledgehammer, hand saws, power drills, saws, lasers, vibrators, walk behind trowels or riders, and had the knowledge when to use these tools at the proper time during place and finish.
  • Patching of voids and repair of concrete work; patch and point experience preferred.
  • Dismantle, clean, store or dispose of forms after use.

Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to climb, stand, sit, walk, reach around, bend, crawl, squat and kneel for prolong periods of time.
  • The ability to lift/push/pull up to and not limited to 100 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • Work occurs on-site and will be mainly outdoors. Must be comfortable working in a changing environment that may expose you to hot or cold weather, loud noises, dust, and rain.
  • Work may occur at heights and require the use of a ladder/manlift/scaffold/ or other mechanical platforms to access the working area.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times (safety vest, hard hat, eye protection, gloves, sleeves as needed, face shields, and appropriate work footwear are required.
