Position Description:

Manage end-to-end commissioning processes and delivery of new or retrofit facilities to meet contract requirements and verify operations, integrating commissioning activities into the Quality Control plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Manage commissioning activities from Level 1 through Level 5 for new or retrofit facilities.
  2. Establish collaborative relationships with architects, engineers, trade partners, and operations teams.
  3. Implement policies supporting project schedule and contractual obligations.
  4. Coordinate with Quality Control and MEP teams to ensure successful completion of checklists, documents, and activities.
  5. Understand project milestones, contractual obligations, and commissioning plans.
  6. Manage commissioning and QC plans for contractual turnovers.
  7. Define and manage on-site resource requirements.
  8. Create and integrate start-up and commissioning schedules into the project schedule.
  9. Collaborate with equipment vendors for efficient installations and feedback.
  10. Manage adherence to QC plans, documentation, and checklists prior to start-up.
  11. Facilitate meetings to communicate plans and updates.
  12. Contribute to the development of project-specific QC plans and online databases.
  13. Oversee development of dashboards for quality and closeout processes.
  14. Develop understanding of project contracts and specifications.
  15. Support pre-installation meetings and communicate scope expectations.
  16. Establish and manage punch list prevention and deficiencies.
  17. Arrange third-party testing and inspections, analyze results.
  18. Participate in onboarding project staff, trade partners, and vendors.
  19. Perform equipment delivery inspections with project teams.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum 12 years of general construction experience in MEP roles or related.
  • Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience bridging field and engineering responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and quality management.
  • ASHRAE commissioning certification preferred; understanding of commissioning levels 1-5.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems, environmental controls, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and project schedules.
  • Travel may be required.
Physical Demands:

Requires sitting, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, viewing monitors, climbing stairs/ladders, and occasional lifting up to 45 pounds. On-site work at construction sites involved.

Work Environment:

Combination of office, remote, and construction site work. Exposure to mechanical parts, heights, fumes, weather, and electrical hazards. Must follow safety policies.
