Position Overview

This position involves a full-time traveling assignment supporting Data Center or EV projects across the United States. The role reports to the Global Critical Facilities (TECH) vertical. Prior experience in data centers or advanced technology projects is strongly preferred.

Position Description

Manage end-to-end Commissioning processes and delivery of new or retrofit facilities to meet contract requirements and verify operations align with owners' project needs. Develop and coordinate site-specific commissioning activities as part of the Quality Control plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Manage commissioning activities during Levels 1-5 for new or retrofit facilities.
2. Establish collaborative relationships with architects, engineers, trade partners, and operations teams to ensure compliant project delivery.
3. Implement policies supporting project schedule, contractual obligations, and compliance.
4. Coordinate with Quality Control and MEP teams to ensure successful completion of checklists, documents, and activities.
5. Understand major project milestones, contractual obligations, and commissioning plans.
6. Manage commissioning and QC plans per contractual turnovers.
7. Define and manage on-site resource requirements.
8. Create and integrate start-up and commissioning schedules into the overall project schedule.
9. Collaborate with OFCI equipment vendors for installations and provide feedback.
10. Manage equipment vendors' adherence to QC plans and documentation requirements.
11. Facilitate meetings to communicate QC plans and schedule updates.
12. Contribute to developing project-specific QC plans and online equipment databases.
13. Oversee dashboards for quality and project closeout, reviewing weekly for trends.
14. Develop understanding of project contract documents.
15. Support pre-installation meetings and communicate scope and expectations.
16. Establish punch list prevention and manage deficiencies.
17. Arrange third-party testing and inspections, analyzing results.
18. Participate in onboarding new project staff, trade partners, and vendors.
19. Perform inspections of OFCI & CFCI equipment for compliance.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years in General Construction, including experience as an MEP Engineer or Superintendent.
• At least 5 years of Commissioning experience bridging field and engineering responsibilities.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and related certifications is highly desirable.
• ASHRAE Commissioning certification preferred; understanding of ASHRAE processes beneficial.
• Experience with Building Management Systems and electrical power systems.
• Ability to interpret project documents and schedules.
• Travel may be required.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, handling objects, reaching, talking, hearing, and viewing screens frequently. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and work in construction environments, lifting up to 45 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

Primarily on-site at construction locations with exposure to mechanical parts, heights, fumes, weather, and electrical hazards. Office work may also be involved. Compliance with safety policies is mandatory.
