Fulcrum Construction is seeking a Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on multiple Texas projects. You will direct site teams, coordinate subs, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across diverse retail facilities.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial construction with ground-up and site-work experience, plus OSHA-30 and CPR/First Aid. Will travel extensively in Texas; salary ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 per year plus truck

Qualifications

• Ten years+ experience in commercial construction with five+ years as primary superintendent.
• Ground-up construction and complex site work experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and codes.
• Proficient in estimating and scheduling practices.
• OSHA-30 and First Aid/CPR certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations and lead all field staff.
• Develop 3-week look-ahead schedules aligned to master plan.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to scope and codes.
• Coordinate site safety programs and weekly toolbox talks.
• Review budgets, approve related invoices and change orders.
• Document daily site logs and progress reports.
• Communicate with owners and project managers to ensure timely completion.

Travel requirement: must be willing to travel extensively in Texas

Fulcrum Construction is seeking an energetic. self-motivated Traveling Construction Superintendent to join our team. Fulcrum Construction is a nationwide commercial general contractor specializing in the retail sector. Projects assigned can vary in size from $1M to $10M, and may include site work, ground up store/facility construction, tenant improvements and open store remodels. Specific consideration will be given to candidates with ground-up construction and site work experience. The successful candidate will independently manage the day-to-day operations of the project in the field. He/she must provide steady leadership and strong direction to all field staff as well as maintain timely essential communication with project managers and owners to ensure the successful completion of onsite construction. The Superintendent is responsible for all onsite quality assurance, project safety and schedule implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Solely responsible for, and will be held accountable for, the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes.
• Manage all aspects of the on-site construction project from project start to punch-list completion.
• Manage all on-site personnel to ensure project is completed in sequence, per the contract documents/local codes and within projected timeline.
• Develop and communicate 3-week look ahead schedules based off master schedule.
• Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
• Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate same to project team for resolution.
• Manage/lead all weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Be an integral part in the subcontracting process.
• Be an integral part in issuance of Owner Change Orders.
• Initiate / Submit RFIs – as applicable to field conditions.
• Develop a project site logistics plan and lead site orientation meetings with all workers to review.
• Review and understand materials budgets.
• Negotiate and execute POs for onsite trailers, storage containers, dumpsters, and other site needs.
• Approve invoices for specified job cost codes.
• Document and ensure quality control and safety standards.
• Track material deliveries and change orders.
• Develop, manage, and implement job specific safety programs and procedures.
• Coordinate jobsite meetings/visits with owners, subcontractors, and Fulcrum team members.
• Onsite leader of safety programs – including providing weekly toolbox talks
• Interpret, review, and approve all subcontractor submittals and shop drawings.
• Document all job site activity via daily reports.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 10 years or more of experience in commercial construction field, at least 5 of those years serving as the primary superintendent in charge of running jobs the size and scope of Fulcrum's projects.
• Proven/previous experience on projects with complex site work and ground up construction.
• Proficient in plan reading, construction design and overall building regulations/laws.
• Ability to read, comprehend and process construction documents (plans, specifications, soil reports, safety manuals, etc.)
• Proficient with typical construction software applications.
• Mastery of building processes and best practices.
• Proficient in estimating and scheduling practices.
• OSHA-30 certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification.
