Job summary

Thompson Engineering seeks qualified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians for multiple locations. You will oversee field testing activities on active construction sites, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and quality; travel to various job sites as needed to support multi-state projects.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to travel. Duties include sampling, lab coordination, daily reports, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of six months' construction materials testing experience.
• ACI Level I Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Nuclear Gauge Certification is required.
• Must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing of construction materials with a 40-pound nuclear density gauge.
• Obtain concrete samples and prepare concrete test cylinders.
• Conduct concrete testing and transport samples to the laboratory for analysis.
• Collect and deliver soil samples to the laboratory and maintain detailed field diaries.
• Prepare daily reports and ensure documentation meets project specifications.

Education

ACI Level I Certification

Nuclear Gauge Certification

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)

Valid driver's license

English literacy (read & write)

Willingness to travel to various job sites
