Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care in Maryland seeks a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic to provide manual spine adjustments, neuromuscular evaluations, and patient-centered care for those injured in motor-vehicle or work-related accidents. You will document cases, advise on treatment, and coordinate with other specialists to support recovery.

The role requires a Maryland DC license, and additional physical‑therapy coursework is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Maryland DC license required.
  • Additional courses in physical therapy advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine or other articulations to correct the musculoskeletal system.
  • Evaluate neuromuscular skeletal function and the spine using chiropractic diagnosis.
  • Review patient health histories, question and examine patients, and interpret x-rays.
  • Maintain accurate case histories and advise on treatment plans.
  • Analyze x-rays to locate sources of problems and rule out fractures or diseases.
  • Counsel patients on nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and related topics.
  • Coordinate with other health practitioners as needed.
  • Oversee related duties as assigned.

Job Duties
  • Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, in order to correct the musculoskeletal system
  • Evaluate the functioning of the neuromuscular skeletal system and the spine using systems of chiropractic diagnosis
  • Diagnose health problems by reviewing patients' health and medical histories; questioning, observing and examining patients; and interpreting x-rays
  • Maintain accurate case histories of patients
  • Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment
  • Analyze x-rays in order to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems
  • Counsel patients about nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other matters
  • Arrange for diagnostic x-rays to be taken
  • Consult with and refer patients to appropriate health practitioners when necessary
  • Suggest and apply the use of supports such as straps, tapes, bandages, and braces if necessary
  • Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), if applicable
  • Oversee work hardening, if applicable
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Maryland Doctor of Chiropractic License
  • Additional courses in physical therapy are advantageous
Additional Skills/Competencies
  • Medicine – Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures
  • Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Therapy and Counseling – Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance
Physical/Mental Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max. of 20 lbs.
