Job summary

Excelsia Injury Care in Cambridge, MD is seeking a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic to perform manual spine adjustments and evaluate neuromusculoskeletal function within a patient-centered outpatient setting. You will review medical histories, interpret x-rays, advise on treatment plans, and coordinate care with other practitioners.

A Pennsylvania Chiropractic License and an adjunct therapies license are required; additional physical therapy coursework is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or better required.
• License: Pennsylvania Doctor of Chiropractic License.
• Adjunctive Therapies License.
• Additional courses in physical therapy are advantageous.

Job Duties

• Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, in order to correct the musculoskeletal system.
• Evaluate the functioning of the neuromusculoskeletal system and the spine using systems of chiropractic diagnosis.
• Diagnose health problems by reviewing patients' health and medical histories; questioning, observing and examining patients; and interpreting x-rays.
• Maintain accurate case histories of patients.
• Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment
• Analyze x-rays in order to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems.
• Counsel patients about nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other matters.
• Arrange for diagnostic x-rays to be taken
• Consult with and refer patients to appropriate health practitioners when necessary.
• Suggest and apply the use of supports such as straps, tapes, bandages, and braces if necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Pennsylvania Doctor of Chiropractic License
• Adjunctive Therapies License
• Additional courses in physical therapy are advantageous
• Medicine – Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures
• Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Therapy and Counseling – Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.

Physical/Mental Requirements Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max. of 20 lbs.
