Job description

Professional Teleconcepts, LLC is hiring a Central Office Technician. This person should be able to perform additions and removals of common telecom equipment and basic telecom hardware associated with the fiber optic network, including but not limited to distribution panels, modules, cards and protection duct. Fiber Optic Testers should also be able to add and remove fiber optic cable and connections on non-working equipment without supervision using proper routing and protection methods. In addition, Fiber Optic testers should be qualified to lead fiber optic cleaning, scoping and Optical Loss / Power, OTDR, PMD and CD Testing.

This role will involve 100% travel across the country.

What you’ll do…

  • Install new and existing fiber optic wiring per company guidelines
  • Install and configure all equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair service lines during service calls.
  • Install telephone wiring.
  • Set up and deliver high speed Internet demonstrating quality connections.
  • Greet & treat customers with respect.
  • Review all requested services with the customer.
  • Interact with customers in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
  • Provide customer product education.
  • Communicate with the supervisor and dispatch regarding work status.

What you’ll need

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • Previous Fiber Optic Testing and Install experience
  • Qualified to lead fiber optic cleaning, scoping and Optical Loss / Power, OTDR, PMD and CD Testing
  • You have a valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • You have an MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company
  • You are able to maintain a safe work environment
  • Will be required to work days, evenings, or night hours and overtime, weekends, and out-of-town assignments for extended periods of time
  • May be required to attend training to acquire mandatory certifications
  • You are able to work in all weather conditions
  • You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
  • You are able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call
  • You are able to carry a 28’ ladder from truck to pole
  • You are able to work in tight spaces such as a crawl space of a house
  • You are able to work 3-feet above ground level and in enclosed space

Salary Range $28-$40HR.
