Traveling Assistant Superintendent - Nationwide

The Role

Assists Superintendents and Project Managers in the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion. Responsible for the performance of all subcontractors ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Assists the Project Safety Officer with the company’s safety program, and encourages all employees and subcontractors to adopt safety as a culture.

Qualifications:

  1. Some experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor.
  2. Must be able to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and all levels of personnel.
  3. Ability to manage all resources, including vendors, subcontractors, and time, as well as prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines and successfully deliver high-quality projects.
  4. Must demonstrate a strong ability to adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment.
  5. Demonstrate integrity consistent with Centennial’s core values.
  6. Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, concise, and professional presentation of information.
  8. Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, including systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam.
  9. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field highly desired.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Oversight: Work with Project Manager to review and provide input on the project scope of work and development. Observe all job site operations and determine compliance with contract documents. Aid project Safety Officer to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all personnel at the job sites. Complete daily project reports, recording progress on the contract intranet website. Participate with the Superintendent in outlining project timetable and evaluate and update schedules as needed.
  2. Subcontractor Management: Seek continuous development of knowledge and abilities on how to coordinate subcontractors and job site operations for job order contracts in accordance with Centennial's Superintendent’s Manual.
  3. Safety: Ensure compliance with Centennial’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.).

This role will require ongoing travel to support projects in various locations in the United States. Performance of the required job duties will be in an office environment along with visits to sites that are under construction which may include various weather conditions.

  1. The ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary.
  2. The ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  3. The ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  4. The ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach.
  5. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The compensation range for this position is $41,600.00 - $103,284.00, taking into account various factors including experience, training, certifications, education, and business needs.
