Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Industrial team. This traveling role supports the Project Manager in profitably managing all administrative and field construction activities on assigned projects, with a focus on power generation experience preferred.

Key responsibilities include schedule updates, subcontract/change order oversight, subcontractor payments, and proactive risk assessment to keep projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Education: industry-related college degree required or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2-5 years in construction project management; LEAN is a plus and OSHA 10/30 preferred or willing to obtain.
• Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills; ability to manage schedules, budgets, and subcontractor relations.

Responsibilities

• Manage small or larger projects with PM oversight to drive profitability.
• Assist in creating/updating project schedules and manage RFIs, change orders, and subcontractor/pay applications.
• Support preconstruction, buy-out, and scoping for subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Monitor deliveries, ensure scope adherence, and issue amendments as needed.
• Prepare project plans, status reports, and owner billings; assist in proposals and presentations.
