Job summary

Transportation Security Administration is seeking Transportation Security Officers to protect travelers across all transportation sectors. TSOs perform screening and security duties in a courteous, professional manner at airports and related facilities.

Qualified candidates must meet either security experience or education criteria (A or B), and will undergo extensive training, background checks, and travel for New Hire training.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time work experience in security, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
• High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC equivalency.
• Credit for experience based on a 40-hour workweek; travel and residency rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Protect travelers and ensure security across transportation sectors in a courteous, professional manner.
• Work full-time with 40 hours per week; shifts may include nights, weekends, overtime.
• Complete training, background investigations, drug and alcohol screening, and regular recertification.
• Maintain certification and fitness for duty; adhere to uniform and appearance standards.
