Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks Transportation Security Officers (TSO) to safeguard travelers and airports through screening, baggage inspection, and professional passenger interaction. Training is provided to support this mission.

As a TSO, you will operate screening equipment, perform bag searches, and manage passenger flow while maintaining composure under pressure. Required: 18+, high school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate or experience.
• Able to pass a federal drug screening, medical evaluation and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Operate screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers.
• Perform searches and screening, including potential pat-downs and bag searches.
• Control terminal entry and exit points and interact with the public.
• Provide directions and respond to inquiries while maintaining professional conduct.
• Stay focused in a loud, stressful environment and make safe, effective decisions.
