Job summary

HonorHealth seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures under a radiologist. The role includes data entry, patient positioning, and coverage at multiple network locations.

Responsibilities include coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety. Requirements include ARRT certification, a CRT license in AZ, and BLS; travel assignments offered with excellent benefits and self-scheduling.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training required.
• Bachelors degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• ARRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and protocol.
• Transport patients to and from exam room and assist into position.
• Perform Interventional Radiology procedures and monitor patient safety.
• Administer contrast materials as required and respond to contrast reactions.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and annotate per IR protocols.
• Utilize RIS, PACS and other image management systems as needed.
• Coordinate daily workflow for department activities.
• Maintain equipment and perform quality control testing.
• Rotate through department per staffing needs.
• Assist in staff orientation and training.

Education

Associates in NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training

Bachelors in NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational Training (Preferred)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification

ARRT - Certification

Radiologic Technologist license (AZ CRT)

ARRT-Vascular Intervention - Certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of a radiologist, this position performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, Protocols procedure with radiologist as needed.
• Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
• Performs Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort.
• Administers contrast materials as required.
• Able to initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed.
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by IR procedure protocols.
• Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed.
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order.
• Performs and documents all required quality control testing.
• Contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
• Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff, as needed.
• Maintains an orderly, clean and safe environment of patients and staff in assigned area.
• Maintains stock and inventory as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Associates in from an accredited NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training Required
• Bachelors in from an accredited NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• 1 year Radiology experience Preferred
• 3 years related experience plus one (1) year clinical IR experience Preferred

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification
• Basic Life Support healthcare provider course and must be provided prior to start date Required
• ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Certification Required
• Radiologic Technologist - License Certified Valid and current AZ State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Required
• ARRT-Vascular Intervention - Certification Preferred
• ARRT-Radiography - Certification Preferred
• ARRT-Cardiac Intervention - Certification Preferred
