Job summary

The YMCA of South Palm Beach County is seeking a Volleyball Coach for the Devos Blum Family YMCA in Boynton Beach. This part-time role focuses on teaching and training youth athletes in volleyball, fostering skill development and a love for the game.

Under the Sports Director, you will plan practices, teach techniques, and coordinate the travel program, while maintaining safe, engaging sessions and clear communication with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Develop age-appropriate practice plans for assigned team(s).
• Teach and coach volleyball skills, techniques and tactics in a creative, fun and professional manner.
• Coordinate and promote the YMCA Travel Program with the Director as needed.
• Plan and supervise practice plans in accordance with YMCA core values, policies, and safety procedures.
• Maintain communication with parents regarding team progress, achievements, and concerns.

Responsibilities

• Develops and plan age-appropriate practices for assigned team(s).
• Teaches/coaches relevant skills, techniques and tactics in a creative, fun and professional manner
• Collaborates with the Director to coordinate and promote the Y's Travel Program throughout the community as needed.
• Plans, supervises and implements practices plans in accordance with YMCA of South Palm Beach County’s core values, policies, and Risk Management and Safety procedures.
• Demonstrates, models and gears practices to the needs of individual players with concerns for their interests & special talents.
• Ensures that the arrangement, appearance, decor, and environment of the practice location are safe and conducive to learning.
• Maintains excellent communication with parents regarding team’s progress, achievements, and/or concerns.
• Attends YMCA functions such as staff meetings and program events.
• Participates in ongoing professional developmental training and attend coaches meetings as required by the Director.
• Works closely to train and help other coaches with practices as needed by the Director.
• Other duties as needed based on Director or Program Site requirements/needs.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Volleyball Coach to join our team. As a Volleyball Coach, you will be responsible for teaching and training young athletes in the sport of volleyball. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young athletes and help them develop their skills and love for the game.

Under the direction of the Sports Director, the Travel Volleyball Coach plans, teaches and leads assign team(s) through each competitive volleyball season. In addition, this individual will act as liaison between the director and the participants, dispersing group communications.
