Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a rotating shift assignment in Colorado. Certifications required include RDMS/ARDMS or ARRT(S) and BLS, with a CO state license and a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Position involves general abdominal, OB, and small parts ultrasound exams with 4x10 hour rotating shifts over a 13-week assignment. Proficiency with HIS/PACS and strict HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Active CO state license required.
• RDMS (ARDMS) or ARRT with Sonography (S) credential required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience required.
• Previous experience performing radiographic and ultrasound examinations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostic Imaging department performing general abdominal, OB, and small parts ultrasound exams.
• 4x10 hour rotating shifts.
• 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours.
• Uses HIS and PACS computer systems for documentation.
• Perform ultrasound examinations according to facility protocols and review each exam for technical accuracy before sending to radiologist.
• Identify patients, verify exam orders and review consistency of demographic information.
• Maintain constructive communication with patients, families, physicians and care team members.
• Determine the best method of obtaining exams with minimal or no supervision.
• Maintain department policies, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety and infection control standards.
• Monitor supply inventory and keep exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat.
• Must be HIPAA compliant.
• CAPS registration required and may take up to two weeks to obtain.
