Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with ARDMS AB certification and BLS, and experience in abdominal, OB, and vascular ultrasound. Travel experience and GE LOGIQ E9 proficiency are required, with RDCS-RVT and OB/GYN ARDMS preferences noted.

The role involves performing abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts imaging across adult, ED, high-risk OB, and ICU patients, with 40 hours/week and 5x8 shifts, plus rotating holidays and back-up call.

Qualifications

• ARDMS AB certification and BLS are required.
• AR DMS OB/GYN and RDCS-RVT are preferred.
• License may be required where applicable.
• Minimum 1–2 years of ultrasound experience.
• Abdominal ultrasound experience required.
• Experience in OB/GYN ultrasound required.
• Vascular ultrasound experience required.
• Experience with GE LOGIQ E9 systems required.
• Travel experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• General ultrasound imaging of abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts.
• Patient population includes adult, ED, High Risk OB, and ICU settings.
• Performs portable exams as needed.
• Uses GE LOGIQ E9, PACS; Philips equipment also used.
• Meditech charting system preferred.
• 5x8 hour day shifts (8:30 AM–5:00 PM), Mon-Fri.
• 40 hours per week with potential for extra hours.
• Rotating holiday schedule, likely Labor Day coverage.
• Rotational back-up call schedule.
• Expected to float within the hospital as needed.
• Performs a wide range of general, vascular, OB/GYN, small parts, and renal/pelvis exams.
• Skills include abdominal aorta, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, carotid, duplex and Doppler studies.
• Procedures like paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound-guided biopsy/FNA valued.

• 40 hours per week with potential for additional hours based on departmental needs
• Participates in a rotating holiday schedule, including likely coverage on Labor Day
• Participates in a rotational back-up call schedule
• Expected to float within the hospital as needed
• Performs a wide range of general, vascular, OB/GYN, small parts, and renal/pelvis ultrasound exams
• Skills include abdominal aorta, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, carotid, duplex, and Doppler studies
• Experience with procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration is valued
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE required
• Completion of required labs within 48-72 hours of contract signing requested to ensure timely clearance for start
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• No set mileage restriction for eligibility
• Previous staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 6 months and in good standing to be eligible for return
• First-time travelers may be considered
