Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a traveling Ultrasound Technologist for an immediate travel opening in Fairbanks, AK. This role requires 1 year of ultrasound experience, ARDMS certification, BLS, and state licensure as applicable.

You will use ultrasound equipment, prepare patients, and collaborate with Radiologists to deliver accurate images. The position offers a 26-week duration, 36 hours per week, and 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Fairbanks, AK. The right US Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a US Tech, you will be responsible for the use of the ultrasound machine and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation. US Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing ultrasound testing.

Tasks

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure /li>
• Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARDMS National Certification, and state-specific licensing when required.

US Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. US Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
