Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a travel assignment in Dayton, Ohio. The position requires 1 year of ultrasound experience, BLS and ARDMS credentials, and state licensure where required.

The role is a 13-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities include patient education, performing ultrasound exams, and assisting Radiologists while maintaining equipment and records.

Qualifications

• 1 year of ultrasound experience required.
• BLS certification and ARDMS national certification required; state licensing as applicable.
• Ability to stand for long periods; 12-hour night shifts.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about procedures.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to identify areas of concern.
• Prepare exam rooms and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and biopsies.
• Report abnormalities to medical staff.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and report failures.
• Conduct scans and write reports; maintain patient records.
• Understand and use McKesson PACS system.

We are looking for an Ultrasound Technologist (US Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Dayton, OH. The right US Tech must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As a US Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Use sonographic equipment to identify and observe the area(s) of concern
• Prepare the exam room for examinations and assist Radiologists with ultrasound procedures and ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Report any abnormalities that require immediate attention to the appropriate medical staff
• Maintain sonography equipment and report machinery failure
• Conduct scan tests and write reports based on the results
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARDMS National Certification, and state-specific licensing when required.

US Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. US Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
