American Traveler is seeking a Ultrasound Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Anchorage, Alaska. 2+ years of experience and ARDMS certification are required; BLS is also required.

Responsibilities include breast imaging, general ultrasound, and biopsies, with 40 hours/week on days. Hospital setting; on-call, weekend rotations, and occasional float within scope are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Ultrasound Technologist.
• ARDMS certification and BLS required.
• License required if applicable.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Experience with general ultrasound, small parts and breast ultrasound.
• Experience with ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration procedures.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population.
• Prior travel healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging across adult, ED, NICU and pediatric patients.
• Use Canon and GE systems with PACS for imaging and archiving.
• Manage daily 40-hour work weeks with 5x8 shifts on days.
• Contribute to breast imaging and breast biopsy procedures.
• Follow Cerner/EPIC charting processes and safety protocols.
• Possibly float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Participate in on-call, weekends as scheduled.

Details

• Acute care Magnet hospital setting
• 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Daily caseload ratios of 1:4 on days, 1:1 on nights and weekends
• Weekend rotation required
• On-call required, minimum of 4 days per month
• Uses Canon and GE ultrasound equipment along with PACS
• Cerner charting system, EPIC experience preferred
• May float within scope to meet facility needs
• Performs a significant amount of breast imaging and breast biopsies
• Patient population includes adult, ED, NICU, and pediatric cases with complex social histories

Requirements

• Perform portable ultrasound studies and general, breast, and small parts imaging
• Complete onsite orientation and annual training modules averaging 4-5 hours via HealthStream

• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates not accepted
• Minimum 100-mile radius rule applies
• Previous employees must have a 2-year gap before returning as a traveler
