Job Summary:
The Ultrasonographer Echo is responsible for performing echocardiographic studies across a diverse patient population, including fetal (congenital 22+ weeks), pediatric, and adult congenital heart disease cases. This role involves assisting with bedside extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) weans, catheter placements, and recognizing emergent situations. The position requires thorough knowledge of congenital and atypical non-congenital heart conditions within a hospital-based setting.

Job Details:

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric sonography, knowledge and experience with ECMO procedures, and BLS certification; ARDMS registration in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred; fetal echo encouraged; adult echo experience a plus.
• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include performing echocardiographic procedures within the full spectrum of diagnoses seen in fetal, pediatric, and adult congenital heart disease, covering NICU, PICU, and Cardiac ICU. Recognize and triage emergent situations, communicate findings to cardiologists in written reports, maintain equipment, and log/bill procedures within EMR and PACS systems.
• Equipment used includes Phillips floor scanners, with an orientation period of 1-2 weeks. scrubs are Caribbean blue.
• Work environment may include coverage of NICU, PICU, and cardiac ICU units.
• Additional operational details include a cancellation policy allowing the hospital to cancel a limited number of shifts without penalty, and no on-call or holiday expectations are specified.
