Job summary

Deutsche Windtechnik seeks a Service Technician I to support wind turbine maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. You will lead a work team at times, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, paperwork completion, and teamwork, with opportunities for growth, training, and advancement within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree is a bonus, but not required.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
• Valid driver’s license (non-CDL or CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions, such as safety rules and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.
• Ability to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
• Employee must be physically fit to climb wind turbines and work in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead and serve as team leader for wind turbine maintenance.
• Perform routine preventive and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Adhere to company safety policies and good housekeeping practices.
• Assist with removal and installation of wind turbine components as needed.

• Assistwith high-voltage system maintenance and repair?

Are You Ready to:

• Lead & perform routine preventive& unscheduledmaintenance on wind turbinesbringing your skills in:mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics?

• Lead & perform unscheduled maintenance consisting of troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic,and electrical systems

• Adhere to company policies, safety standards,and good housekeeping practices?

• Recognizes occurrences of wind turbine error codes and appropriately reports the problem.

• Assist/Lead withtheremoval and installation of wind turbine mechanical, electrical,and hydraulic

components.

WhatYou’llNeed:

• High School Diploma or GED.Associatedegree is abonus, butnotrequired.

• The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusbecause of potential work in close confines.

• Employeemust be physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gearandwork in extreme weather conditions.

• Must be capable of rescuing teammateanywhere in towerin the event ofemergency.

To help ensure their safety, any employees climbing a wind turbine must use a Personal Fall Arrest System, and may not exceed the system’s maximum weight capacity of 309 lbs. This weight must include the individual, their tooling, uniform, and personal protective equipment. Based on these safety requirements and the standard weight of equipment, employees who climb wind turbines may not exceed a maximum personal body weight of 260 lbs.
