Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of total surgical tech experience
• At least one year of experience within the last three years (some roles may require more)
• Active credential by NBSTA or NCCT (CST, CSFA, or TS-C, depending on the role)

Role Responsibilities

Surgical techs play a vital role in the healthcare team, acting as a surgeon's right hand. Responsibilities include preparing surgical equipment, assisting during procedures, and post-operative tasks. Additional duties involve coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, maintaining detailed reports, and providing compassionate, non-discriminatory care to all patients, families, and staff.

Requirements for Application

Applicants must have an active certification from NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA, or an active first assistant certification, along with at least one year of experience as a general surgical tech or first assistant, and recent experience within the past three years. Non-certified candidates require at least 10 years of surgical tech experience, subject to facility acceptance. Graduation from an accredited program and scoring 80% or higher on Nomad's competency exams are also required.
