Requirements for Application

Applicants must have an active certification from the NBSTSA, NCCSA, or ABSA, or at least 10 years of surgical tech experience if not certified. Evidence of at least one year of experience as a First Assistant surgical tech or in a relevant specialty within the past three years is required. Graduation from an accredited school and scoring 80% or higher on Nomad competency exams are also necessary.
