Job Summary
Sterile Processing Technician position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves supporting the surgical team by preparing, sterilizing, and managing surgical and medical instruments and supplies. The position requires maintaining equipment, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with sterilization protocols to support safe surgical procedures.

Job Details

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 2300-0730, Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday. Overtime may be required as needed.
• Required Qualifications: Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire. Must be 18 years of age prior to start date. Prefer two years of experience in handling and sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation within the past four years, or vocational certificate as Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant within the last two years. Alternatively, at least two years of experience as a Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within the last five years. Prefer knowledge of medical terminology. Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner. Demonstrated patient-centered and customer focused communication skills. Frequent lifting/carrying of 25 pounds or more, with occasional work above shoulder level. Required for travelers: 1 year experience.
• Additional Information: The role involves proficiency with sterilization tracking and operation of equipment such as autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners. Adaptability to unpredictable perioperative situations and effective communication are essential skills.
