American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine experience for a day shift hospital operating room position.

Responsibilities include assisting in the OR, preparing supplies, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting training of new staff within a 13-week assignment. Local candidates within 50 miles may be preferred for scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Active state license required if applicable.
• NBSTSA certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
• Trade or technical school certificate or diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital operating room setting.
• Day shift schedule.
• 13-week assignment.
• Proficiency required in total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine procedures.
• Work under the direct supervision of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures.
• Check supplies and equipment needed for each procedure.
• Scrub, gown, and glove self, surgeon, and assistants.
• Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulator before and after procedures.
• Assist in draping the sterile field and pass instruments to the surgeon during the procedure.
• Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Assist with terminal cleaning of the operating room and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Help prep the surgical suite for the next patient.
• Support training of new employees and students in the Surgical Technologist role.
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius of the facility.
