Flagstar Nursing is seeking a travel Surgical Technician for a 13-week assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role supports surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe surgical care for adult and pediatric patients.

The OR Tech prepares operating rooms, maintains sterile environments, and assists during procedures. Travel employment with competitive weekly pay and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Surgical/Operating Room Technician in a hospital setting
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and equipment.
• Ensure all instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready for procedures.
• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating surgical needs.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control practices throughout procedures.
• Handle, count, and track surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to ensure patient safety.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Perform post-procedure cleanup and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials.
• Support turnover of operating rooms between cases in an efficient manner.
• Maintain inventory and report supply and equipment needs.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
