Job summary

Tindall Corporation is seeking a skilled welder to perform welding duties on site as part of our erection crew. You will weld panels, beams and base plates, using SMAW processes and follow strict safety and quality rules.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and AWS SMAW-3F/4F certifications. The job requires climbing and working at heights, with various site-related duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

• Must follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes.
• AWS Certifications SMAW-3F and SMAW-4F required.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean connection plates with chipping hammer and wire brush; move ladder for welding.
• Climb ladder with welding leads to connect panels with welds.
• Drill holes for red head bolts, install bolts, and weld angles to panels.
• Weld haunch and base plates on members at job site as needed.
• Weld connection plates on panels, beams, and columns as required.
• Assist erection crew with grouting, positioning, and related duties.
• Follow Supervisor directions and perform miscellaneous duties as directed.

Summary of Primary Functions

Performs all welding duties that are required on the erection site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

• Cleans connection plates with chipping hammer and wire brush; Moves ladder to various locations for welding.
• Climbs up ladder, with welding leads, to extreme heights to connect panels together with a weld connection.
• Drills holes for red head bolts in foundation, installs red heads, bolts clip angle to foundation and welds angles to panel.
• Alleviates bad joints by using a hand wrench to pull the panel together to make the weld connection.
• Welds haunch and base plates on members at job site when required.
• Welds connection plates on panels, beams, columns, and double tees as needed.
• Helps erection crew with duties when available, such as; grouting, positioning members, etc.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Specifications or Qualifications

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

Certified in AWS Positions: SMAW-3F and SMAW-4F, and a valid driver's license.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
