Job Details:

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Step Down Unit
• Location: Omaha, Nebraska
• Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts) from 06:30 PM to 06:30 AM, with minimum of 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS; 2 years of minimum experience
• Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; valid license to submit; 2 years of relevant experience
• Unit Notes:
  • Unit has 55 beds with adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older)
  • Patient conditions include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, weakness
  • Common medications: PCA pumps, Cardizem, Insulin
  • EMR system: EPIC
  • Equipment: Mechanical lifts available in every other room
  • Support staff includes educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, OT
  • Commends team-oriented environment with a focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness
  • Staffing can include float rotations to medical-surgical areas depending on needs
  • Unit requires American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS and BLS certifications, and NIHSS; experience in telemetry is needed
• Additional Information:
  • Manager interview required; no clinical involvement during interview
  • Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
  • Artificial nails are prohibited; pass/fail skills exam on Fridays during orientation with a 90% pass rate required
  • Nurse must manage daily operations effectively and work well within a close-knit team
  • Cancellation policy allows up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments, 3 shifts for shorter periods
  • No BSN required
