Overview

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult patients with various medical conditions in a high-acuity setting (oncology and trauma common in this unit).
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Maintain documentation in the EMR and ensure accuracy of patient records.
• Demonstrate teamwork, respect for cultural diversity, and commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Valid nursing license to practice in Nebraska.
• ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or ONCC certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar step-down/PCU or high-acuity setting.
• EPIC electronic medical records experience within the last 6 months.
• Ventilator monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring experience preferred (includes CVP, A-Line, Swan-Ganz, EV-1000).
• Ability to titrate drips (e.g., insulin, Cardizem) and perform hourly rounding as required.
• Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts; 36 hours per week minimum.

• RTO requests up to 7 days upfront are considered; additional requests may not be approved.
• Unit cares for adult patients, including those receiving chemotherapy, heparin, and Protonix.
• Float: float to related units as needed.
• Special Equipment: Hemodynamic monitoring devices, ventilators, and electronic fetal monitoring equipment.
