Qualifications

• Experience with cardiac drips (insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, lasix, nitroglycerin) and telemetry interpretation.
• Ability to pass a telemetry exam on the first attempt (paper-based, proctored).
• Heart failure, atrial fibrillation, VTach, STEMI/NSTEMI care are typical cases.

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Step Down Unit care in the Atlanta, GA area. The position involves working on high-acuity, cardiac-focused Progressive Care Units (PCUs) with a strong emphasis on telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm management. The RN will be responsible for delivering patient care to individuals with complex cardiac conditions, including post-procedure patients and those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certifications, Education, and Experience: Current RN license, minimum of 1 year of recent cardiac unit experience, experience with cardiac drips listed (such as Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Nitroglycerin), telemetry interpretation, and successfully passing a telemetry exam.
• Required Competencies: Ability to independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt (exam is paper-based, proctored, and requires calipers).
• Unit Focus: High-acuity cardiac PCU with frequent admissions/discharges, significant procedural volume, and high patient acuity.
• Cardiac Drips Experience: Must have experience with insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, lasix, nitroglycerin.
• Equipment & Specialty Experience: No ventilator patients; heart transplant and LVAD experience preferred but training available. Must have a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills checklist; chest tube experience required.
• Common Patient Populations: Heart failure, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, VTach, VFib, FVO, chest pain, hypertension, heart transplant, congenital heart disease, LVAD patients.
• Procedures: Right & left heart catheterizations, sheath removal, stent placement, valve procedures, STEMI/NSTEMI care, pacemakers, ICDs, cardioversions, ablations, groin site management.
• Float: Float rotation is not required for this position.
