Qualifications

• Maintain current Nebraska pharmacist licensure

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes
• Prepare and dispense all medications within the facility
• Ensure all prescription and medication orders are accurate, complete, and compliant with state and federal requirements
• Maintain relationships with medical and nursing staff, providing timely information on pharmaceuticals and regulatory standards
• Conduct medication use reviews and suggest modifications to achieve therapeutic goals
• Instruct patients on proper drug use and participate in patient care rounds with physicians
• Ensure proper storage of medicines according to regulations
• Respond to medication-related queries from within the hospital and the public
• Stay current with drug knowledge and healthcare developments
• Write guidelines for drug use and budgets
• Attend meetings and participate in committees
• Mentor healthcare professionals in training
• Provide monthly consulting to contracted long-term care facilities
• Comply with compliance program requirements
• Maintain licensure
