Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a 3-month travel assignment in Tacoma, WA. The SLP evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders, develops treatment plans, and documents patient progress.

Candidates must hold a state SLP license and BLS; Master’s degree preferred; CCC-SLP preferred. Will work with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes in a travel setting.

Qualifications

  • Valid SLP license in the state.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred).
  • CCC-SLP (preferred).
  • Experience in speech-language pathology; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings and patient goals.
  • Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document results in the EMR.
  • Educate patients, families and caregivers on communication strategies and home exercises.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities.

Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers, and maintains detailed documentation to improve speech, language, and cognitive-communication outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Use standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices, providing supportive counseling as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay current with best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Qualifications
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology (preferred).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (preferred).
  • Experience in speech-language pathology (new graduates welcome).
  • Additional certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
