Responsibilities

  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
  • Develop and adjust plans of care based on patient progress and treatment outcomes
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
  • Communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans with supervisors and healthcare team members
  • Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings
  • Attend facility and company required trainings and in-services
  • Obtain necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical requirements
  • May supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists
  • Adhere to ASHA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics standards
  • No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested during the assignment

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care position requiring CCC certification and MO or compact licensure.

Details
  • Long Term Care facility setting within the Speech Language Pathology department
  • Treats patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Provides group therapy in addition to individual treatment sessions
  • Typical caseload of 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluations scheduled
  • Standard treatment sessions run approximately 30 minutes
  • Days shift, 8 hours, Monday through Friday
  • Start time flexible between 6 AM and 10 AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
  • No weekend work required unless a holiday falls Monday through Friday, in which case hours are made up on the weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Each therapist typically has a dedicated device for documentation
Requirements
  • Active MO state RN license or compact license required
  • CCC certification required
  • 1 year of SLP experience required
