Requirements

• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or in the process of obtaining it.
• At least one year of professional experience.
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current CPR certification.
• CCC's required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Additional requirements as determined by the client facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP assesses referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, or language deficits. They teach patients how to produce sounds, improve voice quality, or enhance oral and written language skills for effective communication. Additionally, they teach muscle strengthening or use of compensatory strategies for safe swallowing.

• Provide skilled speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders.
• Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet therapy goals.
• Set realistic goals to help patients develop or recover communication and swallowing skills, enabling them to fulfill educational, vocational, and social roles.
