Med Ninjas is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week assignment in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The role is 40 hours per week with 8-hour daytime shifts in a skilled nursing/post-acute setting.

You will develop and implement treatment plans for swallowing, cognition, and communication, lead SLP services, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with nursing and medical staff to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications

• MO State SLP license required and CCC certification.
• Valid driver's license required and license maintenance ongoing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities.
• Utilize communication techniques to enhance expressive and receptive language skills.
• Lead, guide, and direct speech language pathology services within the facility.
• Ensure services comply with regulations and facility policies.

• Treat diverse patient populations with various cognitive, dietary, and neurological diagnoses.
• Work in a busy, high-energy skilled nursing and post-acute environment.

Job Summary

• Develop and implement treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities, and reduce aspiration risks.
• Utilize communication techniques to enhance both expressive and receptive language skills for patients.
• Lead, guide, and direct speech language pathology and audiology services within the facility.
• Ensure services comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
• Provide appropriate care and therapeutic services to residents in both short-term rehab and long-term care settings.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff, doctors, and other therapy team members to coordinate patient care.
• Treat a diverse patient population with a variety of cognitive, dietary, and neurological diagnoses.
• Work within a busy, supportive, and high-energy skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation environment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines.
• Participate in building and improving long-term care and therapy programming for the facility.
• Maintain required licenses and certifications (MO State SLP License, CCC certification, valid driver’s license).
• Adhere to the facility’s dress code (scrubs).
