TotalMed Allied seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in Saint Joseph, MO. The SLP will work 40 hours per week for 13 weeks in an acute care setting, assessing and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

The ideal candidate has ASHA certification, BLS, and active state licensure; 1 year of experience is preferred, with 6 months acceptable for exceptional candidates. Travel and benefits are included.

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a travel job in St Joseph, Missouri.

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in St Joseph, MO. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

Requirements

Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply. Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
