Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Great Barrington, MA. Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Speech Language Pathology experience, but New Grads are welcome to apply
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. They develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve communication outcomes and quality of life.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observation
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices
  • Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices; provide supportive counseling as needed
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment adhering to infection control and safety standards
  • Engage in quality assurance and professional development activities
  • Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned
Required Essential Skills:
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and PC skills
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, bend
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effectively work with diverse personnel, maintain professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills: Grasping, fine manipulation, movement assistance
  • Mental Requirements: Handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines, work under supervision, irregular schedules, and maintain concentration
  • Sensory: Visual acuity, effective communication
