Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in Folsom, California. You will assess and treat patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Requirements include a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, state licensure as an SLP (CCC's), CPR certification, and at least 1 year of experience. Travel assignments offer comprehensive benefits and travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must hold a state license as an SLP/CCC eligible, or actively pursuing licensure.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience as an SLP.
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• CCC's (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients with speech, language, and/or hearing needs.
• Teach patients to produce sounds, improve voice, and enhance communication skills.
• Help patients strengthen swallowing muscles or use compensatory strategies.
• Provide skilled speech therapy services per physician orders.
• Assess needs, plan, evaluate, and adjust therapy to meet goals.
• Set realistic goals to restore communication and swallowing abilities.

Duties Responsibilities

• The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require treatment for speech, hearing and or language deficits.
• The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will teach patients how to make sounds, improve their voices, or increase their oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively.
• Also, the Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will teach individuals how to strengthen muscles or use compensatory strategies to swallow without choking or inhaling food or liquid.
• Provide skilled speech therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders.
• Assesses patient needs, plans for, evaluates and modifies care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions.
• Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop, or recover, reliable communication and swallowing skills so that the patient can fulfill their educational, vocational and social roles.
