Job summary

TotalMed Allied seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Township, MI. The role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing impairments in acute care settings, with a 35-hour workweek and 7-hour shifts.

The ideal candidate has ASHA SLP certification, BLS, and state licensing, plus 6–12 months of experience; exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered. Travel allowances and weekly pay are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• ASHA, BLS, 2 Years* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Township, MI. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements. As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.
