Duties & Responsibilities

The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will assess referred patients needing treatment for speech, hearing, or language deficits. Responsibilities include teaching patients to make sounds, improve voice quality, enhance oral or written language skills, and teach strategies for safe swallowing.

  • Provide skilled speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders.
  • Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet therapy goals.
  • Set realistic goals to help patients develop or recover communication and swallowing skills to support their educational, vocational, and social roles.
