Job summary

TotalMed Allied in Grayling, Michigan is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a travel assignment lasting 13 weeks. The role involves working 30 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts in an acute care setting to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of experience (6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates), BLS, ASHA-SLP certification, and state licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.

• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a travel job in Grayling, Michigan.

We are looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate travel opening in Grayling, MI. The right SLP should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements.

Tasks

As an SLP, you will be responsible for assisting patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and evaluating and developing a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

As an SLP, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.

Requirements

Speech-Language Pathologists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. SLPs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
