Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in Plano, Texas. The role requires 40 hours per week over 13 weeks, with dayshift hours and travel-related duties in an acute care setting.

The candidate should have ASHA-SLP certification, BLS, and state licensing, with 6 months minimum experience (6 months accepted for exceptional cases). The position emphasizes patient assessment, planning, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; new grads encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state licensing.
• SLP must be able to stand/walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Travel assignment in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit individualized needs.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and family about speech disorders and causes.
• Report progress and current status to family, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely documentation following state/insurance guidelines.
