Aerotek in Philadelphia, PA is seeking experienced Shipfitters to join a contract team working on major shipbuilding and repair projects. Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of shipfitter experience in a shipyard.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with structural fit-up, alignment and assembly.
• Familiarity with shipyard fabrication tools.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Experience with tack welding.
• Strong shipyard safety practices.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and correct fabrication issues.

Shipfitters $45/HR + $140 Daily Per Diem

Position is located in Charleston South Carolina and Newport News, Virginia

What You'll Be Doing

As a Shipfitter, you'll play a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of structural components used in ship construction and repair. You'll work from blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise fit-up, alignment, and assembly before welding operations begin.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and job specification

• Lay out, position, fit, and assemble steel components and ship structures

• Prepare materials through grinding, straightening, drilling, reaming, deburring, and other fabrication techniques

What We're Looking For

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
