Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina. The role requires a Peds-RRT with NBRC credentials, BLS, ACLS, and 1 year of acute care experience. You will provide direct patient care across pediatric units and support the continuum of care with a team of clinicians.

This travel position runs 13 weeks with 36 hours per week on day shifts. Additional certifications (PALS/NRP) may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

We're looking for a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) for an immediate travel position opening in Charleston, SC. The right Peds-RRT must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a Peds-RRT, you will provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.

As a Peds-RRT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
• Maintains appropriate patient records/documentation.
• Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates, maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function. Reports malfunctions to director.
• Performs arterial puncture and analyzes sample according to procedure guidelines.
• Interacts with co-workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
• Responds to emergent situations that could require Respiratory support.

Peds-RRTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Peds-RRTs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times. Peds-RRTs must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
