Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment in Waterloo, Iowa. This 13-week contract offers 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift, with travel compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include evaluating patient plans, providing respiratory care for critically ill patients, managing endotracheal tubes, and maintaining thorough documentation. Strong communication with staff and physicians is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Respiratory Therapist
• Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NALS, or NRP preferred
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients and families

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patient and recommends a treatment plan
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes
• Performing timely and accurate documentation
• Promoting continuous quality improvement
• Teaching and counseling patients/families
